The plate

The plate is produced in Manufacture de Creil in Monteraux, near Paris, and the printing part of the decoration and the additional painting were performed by the special decoration workshop Stone-Coquerel-Legros, PARIS.

Such plates with motif representations were souvenirs of a kind, which often adorned the walls of bourgeois salons, reminiscent of the pleasant moments one of the owners had spent in Paris, the city of light – La ville des lumieres. Along with a number of art works from the collection of Dr. Ivo Tartaglia’s family – the plate was confiscated following the decision of Split’s NOO and ended up in the Museum of the City of Split.
