Pilgrim bowls from the Loreto Shrine

According to legend, the Holy House of Nazareth, endangered by the Saracens in the 13th century, was transported on the wings of angels to a safer place, Trsat (it. Tersatto), on the east side of the Adriatic coast. Unfortunately, it did not stay there for long. Because of the new dangers looming over it, it continued its trip, and in the search for a safer refuge, finally found rest in Loreto, in Recanati on the Apennine Peninsula.
