The Statute of The City of Split
The first statute of the City of Split, the Capitularium dating from 1240, was not preserved and so we are not familiar with its contents. It was composed during the first podestà of Gargan de Arscindis, who was brought from Ancona. However, the text of the Statute of 1312 was preserved; it was composed by the Potestate (mayor) of Split, Perceval, the son of Ivan from the city of Fermo, also from the Italian region of Marche.
