The oldest photograph of Split
The photograph was taken towards the end of 1859 and it captures excellently most of the way Split looked at that time. It was taken by the earliest known photographer of Split Petar Zink, from the window of his atelier in the attic of the Bajamonti Palace – later the Dešković Palace.
The differences in almost all areas of the city are quite distinct. Starting from the left hand side, we can see the old Church of Our Lady of Good Health in the distance.
