The Slavic Progress Medal
The ballroom on the second floor of the Renaissance-Baroque Tartaglia Palace in Šubićeva Street were the premises of the populist association Slavic Progress, established in 1873.
During their celebrations they would decorate the entrance to the building with greenery and flags, while the tiny fountain on the staircase would be lit by magnesium light. Performances and entertainment which promoted the People’s Party’s political ideas were also organized in the great hall of the Palace. Its fervent supporters resisting the attacks of the autonomists were also gathering there.
