Đeferdar rifle

The đeferdar rifle is one of the luxurious rifles manufactured in the Balkans. The name stems from the Turkish cevherdar, meaning ‘an object adorned with precious stones’. In the first half of the 19th century this term was used for any richly decorated rifle, not for a specific type. The usage of the term was documented in 1870 as referring to a specific type of rifle.
