Tančice - Arnaut longrifles
Tančica longrifles were the most used type of firearm in the Balkan Peninsula. They had many names in the folk terminologies of the region. Their characteristics were: a long and thin barrel and a thin and curved rifle butt.
Since theser rifles were mostly used by the Arnauts, they are often called arnautka, or, because of their appearance, paftlija. The term longrifle is due to their specific construction, a thin and elongated rifle butt and a very long barrel.
