Pistols – kubura
The pistol was an inseparable part of folklore dress for any military or non-military man in regions under the Ottoman Empire. In Croatian, along with the international term pistol, the words samokres, kubura and mala puška (meaning ‘small rifle’) were used. Among them, kubura was most often used. Experts are not unanimous on the subject of whether the kubura was a special type of pistol or just another region-specific term for a flintlock pistol.
