The Cross of St. Mark is surely one of the highest rated knighthood decorations awarded to meritorious individuals during the Venetian Republic. The diamond studded cross was awarded to Ivan Obradich Bevilacqua of Hvar, who in 1657 defended Split against the Ottomans.
