Hussar sabre
Without a doubt, the hussar sabre originated under the strong influence of the Turkish sabre, during the gradual transformation of heavy knight cavalry into light cavalry called hussars, armed similarly to Ottoman Spahi and Jebelu troops.
In addition to light cavalry, there were also heavy and medium cavalry. The hussar type of sabre was completely dominant in the 17th century, not only in the arming of the Hungaro-Croatian cavalry – hussars but also in the arming of the infantry troops called haramije or hajduk.
